Outsourcing Operations // BUSINESS 469

Jim Moran, Co-Founder, Yipit

Wednesday, June 22nd from 8:00 pm to 9:30 pm.

Outsourcing allows a startup to focus on its core competency, maintain an engineering focused culture and add leverage to every member of its team. This course will cover how an early-stage startup can effectively outsource its operations. Whether a company is just starting out and needs to scale its resources or is looking towards future expansion, outsourcing is a common way to get a startup on the fast track to success.

This class will address topics including:

- Utilizing contractors to deliver excellent customer service, account management, content, low level BD, reporting, administration, and more

- Marshaling human resources through Mechanical Turk, Elance, Solvate, and identifying what tasks are appropriate for each program

- Ensuring scalability through processes and metrics

Jim Moran is a co-founder of Yipit. Jim also co-founded UnHub and 140it and previously worked at The Blackstone Group. He graduated from Harvard College in 2005 with a degree in Economics.
